For summer use, a 5w40 full-synthetic Porsche approved oil should be used. For sub-freezing daily driven winter use, we recommend a 0w40 full-synthetic Porsche approved oil. Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40, which is a factory Porsche approved lubricant, can also be used year-round. Use of thicker oils is not recommended. For vehicles outside of the warranty period, the optimal choice for year-round use is Joe Gibbs DT40 5w40.
