Your car does have to have the installed Phone - Bluetooth option enabled and built in.
(Not the Phone (the car is a phone and you insert the SIM in to the slot).
All cars have the bluetooth hardware built in it seems, BUT if you don't have the Phone-Bluetooth OPTION installed and enabled on your care you will not be able to pair your phone.
So I'd first validate that the Phone-Bluetooth option is speced and installed on your car.
